Hannah Baldwin, an Aviation Maintenance Technician student at North Central Institute (NCI), has been awarded the mikeroweWORKS Foundational Work Ethics scholarship. The mikeroweWORKS Foundation is one of the largest trade school scholarship funds in the country, awarding $2.4 million this year.
Receiving the $7,000 scholarship in August, the soon-to-be 2025 graduate says she worked hard in high school, attended Madisonville North Hopkins High School, received good grades throughout, and is proud to have received the scholarship during her first year at NCI.
When we asked Hannah how North Central Institute has impacted her outlook in an Aviation Maintenance career, she responded, “I first visited NCI in seventh grade -tagging along with my brother. After our tour through the 30,000 sqft facility, I could not stop talking about being an aviation mechanic, decorating my room with airplanes and aspiring to one day be an aviation mechanic. Here I am, 5 years later and my dream is becoming a reality!”
To any student looking to go into the Aviation Maintenance Technician program at NCI, she says, “NCI is a very hands-on school, and the instructors are attentive and care about you. Overall, I am having a great experience and recommend NCI to anyone interested in Aviation Maintenance.”
Upon completion of the Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT 147) program, which is 17 months long, and getting her FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification (A&P), Hannah hopes to work alongside her uncle at United Airlines.
